WHY RECYCLING?

Recycling is the process of transforming waste materials into new materials. This new material can be used in a variety of other productions as well. There is a lot to be gained from recycling, whether from a monetary or environmental standpoint. This article will go over some of the advantages of recycling and why we should be enthusiastic about it.

First and foremost, it contributes to the conservation of precious natural resources. It accomplishes this in the sense that when paper materials, for example, are recycled, the number of trees harvested for paper production is reduced. When plastics that take hundreds to thousands of years to break down are recycled it reduces the amount of them being produced because the production of plastics releases fossils fuels which are harmful to the environment.

Secondly, it reduces the amount of waste in the environment thereby protecting it. Without recycling, every waste made would have to be disposed of and since some waste materials are very difficult to decompose, they would end up in landfills. Due to the possibility that the waste contains harmful gases that will have negative consequences for the ecosystem and all living organisms, this represents a threat to both.

Recyclable waste can also be used as a platform for innovation and revenue generationin a business setting. As companies take the initiative to improve their operations, their research departments investigate new and better ways to do so. In this case, the company will have an opportunity to generate some form of revenue because new materials will be obtained from the waste and will be used to manufacture other new goods.

BOTTA Packaging a company that strongly believes in continuous innovation has been one of the voices of supporting and producing products that are recycled in their bid to create a sustainable environment.

RECYCLABLE FASHION

Many fashions have come and gone for quite some centuries now. A majority of people are interested in this industry because a person's clothing choices greatly affect how he or she is addressed. However, most of our clothing isn't recycled and thus is sent to the landfill. Well-liked and sustainable fashion centers on the concept of re-use, re-wear, and recycling. It is not something new but, now that millennials are a significant demographic, sustainability is getting a lot of attention.

The clothing brand H&M has purposed to use more sustainable sources for their clothing line by 2030 which is a good initiative that most clothing companies should also take up. This will help not waste resources and also reduce the amount of pollution caused by the industry.

A company named Comistra in Prato, a town in Tuscany, Italy is known for its way of recycling and sustaining fashion. They make new clothes out of old scraps. They gather used clothing, sort it by color and material, and then put it through a carbonizing process to remove contaminants. They are washed, shredded, and used to produce new garments after the carbonization process. Fabrizio Tesi, the owner of Comistra says they produce about 25 tonnes every day and 15% of all recycling clothes worldwide. This type of information should be incorporated into the curriculum of fashion schools today which would go a long way to have a huge impact on future designers to be more conscious and sustainable.

Each of us has a role to play either by purchasing these recycled clothes and supporting environmentally friendly brands or advocating for them as this is the way forward in decreasing the needless waste of resources. Let's keep faith in our goals of an environmentally conscious society.

SUSTAINABLE ENVIRONMENT??

According to the UN World Commission on Environment and Development: “sustainable development is development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.”

A sustainable environment is capable of meeting the needs of the present while also being preserved in good condition for the benefit of future generations. As a result, natural resources should be used in a way that does not deplete them but rather keeps them safe. It should be the responsibility of every individual on this planet to fight for a sustainable environment, rather than just the institutions that have been established to oversee them. People have chosen us as stewards of the rest of the planet, and we must fulfill our responsibilities as stewards of the planet.

One method of accomplishing this is to strengthen the circular economy. Natural and non-renewable resources are being over-exploited, and this is intended to help mitigate the problem. The goal of this agenda is to maintain a sustainable environment through the efficient use of resources, such as reuse and recycling to help reduce the amount of waste produced. This does not imply a cessation of economic activity, but rather the efficient use of resources to achieve organizational goals while also protecting the environment in the process. This seeks for 100% recycling efficiency with zero-waste. Various stakeholders are seeking for the push of this economy and less of the linear type including political and consumer preferences, especially regarding packaging. It can be noted that European Union has taken this course of action very seriously and is enacting rules and regulations to oversee this.

The Paper Packaging Industry, for example, is a step in the right direction toward circulareconomies. Paper can be reused, recycled, and repurposed for a variety of other applications over and over again with 100% efficiency and they are biodegradable.

TRENDS IN PACKAGING

Changes are occurring in the world of packaging due to the emergence of e-commerce and newer trends in technology. Results of a recent study conducted by Smithers show that demand for corrugated packaging has increased by 3.5% per year since 2018. Increased demand is expected for corrugated packaging due to new trends emerging in the modern age of technology, thus the market for corrugated packaging is expected to increase at an annual rate of more than 4% per year by 2025 that could potentially weigh nearly 250 million tonnes.

Carton was found to be the most eco-friendly packaging across Europe, with 52% of Europeans saying that they are convinced it to be so. As a result, millions of Europeans are making environmental choices to maintain or improve the sustainability of the environment according to a study conducted by ProCarton in 2018.

Furthermore, the market for European paper packaging is forecasted to grow at a compound annual rate of growth (CARG) of 4.5 percent between 2021 and 2026. These are all due to the new insight people are gaining into the world of recycling and waste management coupled with innovative solutions emerging from companies today.

Due to the increase in the global market for eco-friendly packaging, Europe, which is the second-largest packaging market, should be strongly affected due to the interest of people in this idea. The e-commerce industry's market share is increasing due to various factors. In addition, many businesses search for useful solutions that will help improve their communities and society, and as a result, these types of packaging become the norm.

BOTTA Packaging aims to be a part of this fast-growing movement, and to this end, they are constantly researching new trends. We're motivated to serve our community and the world because we care about providing our customers with better service.

ZERO WASTE

ZERO WASTE is a set of waste-prevention ideas that encourages the reorganization of resource life cycles in such a way that all products may be reused. The goal of this idea is not to recycle or dispose of things, but rather to make full use of all available resources to eliminate waste. When it comes to garbage disposal, it is focused on this goal since a portion of it may end up in landfills and a portion may be burnt, both of which contribute to air pollution. This will lead our objective of maintaining and safeguarding the environment to be shifted in a new direction, and it may have negative consequences for the ecosystem as a result.

This concept is often referred to be a difficult goal, yet it is attainable. Companies that utilize environmentally friendly methods of manufacturing, consumption, usage, and recycling of all resources will be taking a step in the right path. Zero waste is not only possible in businesses, but it is also possible in the home. Consumers may assist by paying attention to the goods they purchase and how they use them; this will also help to decrease the quantity of trash produced. They may also depend on environmentally friendly manufacturing firms for their goods. Individual homes and businesses may also help by diverting any trash to a commercial compost facility rather than just tossing it away.

We, at the BOTTA Packaging, are very interested in the zero-waste idea, and as a result, we manufacture packaging that reflects this passion. We are a consumer-oriented business that has been in operation for more than 70 years in the field of environmental friendliness and sustainability. This is the direction in which we want to continue, by investing in research and innovation to provide more sustainable solutions for businesses, to reduce overall waste generated at the end of the day.
