ECO-FRIENDLY TIPS FOR OUR HOMES

Every good steward takes care and responsibility for what has been entrusted in his care. We have been placed as caretakers and stewards of the earth. The little we can do is to help protect and conserve the environment. One way to do that is starting from our homes. This post is going to list at least 8 ways in which we can be environmentally friendly in our homes. If every household can do this, the whole earth and everything in it would be well preserved and conserved for the future generation.

1. Creating a small garden in your background. This can provide us with food, easing the strain on world production. It will also act as a supply of oxygen to offset carbon emissions. Your kids will learn about sustainability while having fun as a family.

2. Use energy-saving bulbs (LED), and turn off lights and appliances when not in use. This will decrease electricity costs while saving energy globally.

3. If possible, do laundry manually, switch using the washing machine and dryer. Especially in the summer nowadays we can do this to save the energy consumed by the washing and drying machines.

4. Having your recycling and composting bin. Separating waste by each household would help the waste management team to also do their jobs efficiently. This will also teach the younger kids what to do when they grow up.

5. You can also have your composting system in the house. Your food waste and kitchen scraps can be used as compost for your garden and flowers.

6. Use reusable bottles in the house and do away with plastic and disposable kitchenware as much as possible.

7. Use reusable shopping bags. We will recommend paper bags and other sustainable packages that can be recycled and biodegrade.

8. Try going vegetarian at least once a week as meat production contributes to gas emissions.

Let’s go green, starting from our homes!

SUMMER ECO-TIPS

Summer is the ideal time to enjoy pleasant weather, unlimited pleasure, and a vacation from work. This year's summer will be different. You can already attest to this. This is due to the global outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic. To reduce infection rates, governments in conjunction with the WHO have implemented travel restrictions, lockdowns, and the usage of nose masks. For over a year, people have been cooked up in their rooms and houses. Nowadays, the available vaccines and the reduction in infection rates in some parts of the world have brought about a little normalcy.  People are traveling again, attending summer camps, having lake and beach time, going to restaurants in groups, and having barbecues. Being out after a long year of being unable to may have a detrimental effect on the environment due to excitement if precautions are not taken. Here are some suggestions for having fun during this time;
1.    Bring reusable bottles. Summer hydration is critical. Instead of purchasing disposable water bottles, carry your reusable bottle. After this season, several plastic bottles wind out in the ocean and on beaches, and we'd want to prevent that to preserve our water bodies and creatures.
2.    The use of straws may also be avoided. Plastics break down and produce toxins that damage animals, vegetation, and the ecosystem as a whole.
3.    Use reusable bags. During the summer, consumers buy a lot and for that, they should use reusable bags or paper bags instead of plastic bags.
4.    Road travel emits less CO2. Summer is the ideal time to drive instead than fly. It's also the ideal time to ride bicycles and stroll instead of using carbon-emitting transportation. It's beneficial for the environment and your health.
5.    Help clean parks or beaches. Keep the environment clean by doing it yourself. Some of us have a lot of spare time and can volunteer. Volunteering doesn't have to be done alone; you may do it with your family and friends, which can be enjoyable.
6.    Use non-toxic sunscreen to protect your skin and the environment!

In all let’s observe the Covid-19 rules.

First and foremost, we must understand how to extend the life of the clothing we currently possess. Keeping the clothing you already have in excellent shape and mending them when they are damaged will allow you to use them for a longer period. This is one method of ensuring the long-term viability of the environment, as opposed to just disposing of them and purchasing new ones. Because of this, you will not add to the pressure on manufacturing firms to produce more clothing, which may increase the gases emitted into the environment.

Ideally, it would be wonderful to be able to wear your clothing until they are completely worn out and no longer functional, but this is not the case. With time, tastes, interests, and the dimensions of our bodies vary, which necessitates us acquiring new clothes.  So, what happens to the old? Do we throw them away? No! We could give them away to other individuals, which would assist to extend their useful life cycle. You may even sell them and make a few coins to go towards the purchase of new ones.

You may also advocate for fashion businesses that are committed to sustainability. Inform your friends and relatives about these products. Brands such as H&M have already begun manufacturing in this area. Your patronage may act as a source of incentive for them to expand the number of items produced.

Let us contribute to the preservation and restoration of the environment by using ethical fashion.

AN UPTICK IN CONSUMER DEMAND FOR ENVIRONMENTALLY CONSCIOUS PRODUCTS

Sustainability is becoming more important. Initially, sustainability was seen as a passing fad, but given the present generation's concern, it seems it's here to stay. Sustainability is a hot topic among the younger generation. They are extremely worried about their environmental effect, good or bad. As a result, their buying decisions are influenced. The youth make up the majority of the world's population. For companies to understand their customers, they must first understand their generation's needs.

Today's consumers want recyclable, biodegradable, and compostable packaging. Consumers that care about the environment prefer items with recyclable or biodegradable packaging rather than those that wind up in landfills and harm the environment. Companies should be aware of this issue and consider switching to sustainable packaging if they haven't previously. BOTTA Packagingis an excellent resource for ideas.

Additionally, consumers are searching for products that have been certified as ecologically beneficial. Businesses should be transparent about their efforts to promote sustainability across their production processes and seek certifications as well. They can do this by putting a sustainability logo and certification on their packaging to educate their consumers about their goods.

Furthermore, consumers purchase with a sustainability mentality in mind; as a consequence, they are indifferent to the price of a product as long as it satisfies their sustainability criteria. This shows how significant environmental issues have grown in recent years for the general population.

Any customer-oriented company tries to satisfy its customers' needs and will go to great lengths to accomplish this aim. As part of their CRS, businesses are expected to refrain from engaging in actions that jeopardize the safety of the community where they operate.

Because no company can exist in the absence of consumers, companies must adapt to changing market demands to stay successful. This is the only way to ensure long-term success.
