Due to the numerous questions from partners all over the world about our new innovative Eco-Packaging product EcoSleeve Plus, we are here to try and answer all the questions about this outstanding packaging solution.

1. What is EcoSleeve Plus?

EcoSleeve Plus is a safe and sustainable packaging solution for fragile product. It has 2 layers: one corrugated paper lining and another flat paper coating. Its name comes from its sleeve shape, its recycled and recyclable paper material, as well as the extra protection it could provide to the packed item.  

2. What are the advantages of EcoSleeve Plus?

EcoSleeve Plus is a great solution for your product’s safety. The specialty is in 2 main components in our EcoSleeve Plus: one layer of corrugated paper covered by a flat paper layer outside. The inside paper flute is a cushion-like layer which is designed to protect your product from any crash and shock during handling or transporting. Outer flat paper fastens the packaging and also minimizes the space when loading into big overpacking box. It also allows for printing, which is a great marketing plus!

3. Can it be recycled?

Yes! As for other Botta Packaging Eco-products, EcoSleeve Plus is certified by ATICELCA, the Italian Certification Institution, to be suitable for Paper recycling. The sleeve itself is made of recycled paper thus fulfilling the aim of a circular economy within the packaging industry.

4. What is it difference between standard Eco Sleeve and Eco Sleeve Plus?

Standard EcoSleeve is composed of one layer of corrugated paper, hence it is elastic to fit different sizes of items. Standard EcoSleeve can be used for different sizes of cylindrical bottles, vases or flasks..

On the other hand, EcoSleeve Plus has a flat paper coating outside so it does not have the same flexibility of Standard EcoSleeve but dimensions are catered to overcome this. In return, the flat paper helps to tighten the package so that it is unloosenable. Also, in term of aesthetics, Eco Sleeve is better as both inner and outer packaging and allows for personalized printing.

In August, Botta Packaging got good news that our launch of free Pallet Calculator service has been recognized by colleagues in India and the USA on packagingconnections.com. On this occasion, we would like to talk a bit about our recent appearance on foreign media and, also, send our great gratitude to them for their recognitions about our 2 recent innovations: Pallet Calculator and Eco Envelope.

In July, Packaging Technology Today (packingtechtoday.com) from the USA cited Botta Packaging as “A New Push Towards Sustainable Packaging”. On the occasion of our partnership with Esselunga – our well-known Italian retail store chain, packagingtechtoday.com praised our Eco Envelope (used for Esselunga’s eggs and bottles) for its sustainability as well as the same parameters of protection and resistance for these particular Esselunga’s products.

Once again, in August, Packaging Technology Today has helped us to introduce our new Pallet Calculator to their audience. This free-of-charge service will help logistics or warehouse manager to avoid empty space and increase efficiency in pallet loading.

WHAT COULD WE DO WITH ECO TAPE COMPOSTABLE?

 

Eco Tape Compostable is not just normal adhesive but also a sustainable tape. For its wonderful biodegradability and compostability, the Eco Tape could probably be used for other certain application. Let us give you some ideas how to use our sustainable tape:

Use Eco Tape Compostable for sealing paper boxes or other eco-packaging

As other adhesive tape, this Eco Tape Compostable could be used to seal your packages. There is no doubt in its toughness and durability as we already test its adhesion strength on steel. COMPREHENSIVE ECO-PACKAGING SOLUTION WITH ECO TAPE COMPOSTABLE

 

When mentioning about packaging trash, people usually think of plastic container; however, one of the major plastic pollution sources is also adhesive tapes. This plastic tape kind is widely used in packaging, which create significant and frequent waste after disposal. Understanding this fact, Botta Packaging has provided a new Eco Tape Compostable with the aim to provide a comprehensive “green” solution to our customers. Along with our other eco-friendly products, this compostable adhesive tape will fulfill the sustainability of your packaging completely.

What is Eco Tape Compostable?

Our Eco Tape Compostable is the adhesive tape which is biodegradable and compostable. Indeed, our product has been tested in TÜV’s laboratory for these features. The results show that 90% of this adhesive tape will self-biodegrade within a half of year due to its PLA film’s natural origin. When composted with other bio-trash for 90 days, it would be fragmented into sieves less than 2mm in diagram.  

Could it be mighty enough for your package?

Eco Tape Compostable can replace normal tape in packaging. In fact, its biodegradability and compostability do not reduce its strength and toughness. You can easily use it with any corrugated box. How sustainable is our Eco Tape Compostable? 

Firstly, it is produced with natural and renewable materials. The transparent film is made of polylactide (also known as Polylactic acid) obtained from corn, sugar beet or sugar cane. For that reason, it is named as PLA film. The adhesive is made from natural rubber to make sure that the tape is plant-based, no fossil fuel used along the production chain.

The other point is its possibility for waste treatment. This tape can be thermally recycled to produce energy for heating purpose. Or else, it could be disposed with other plastics for recycling into the new resin. But even if it is not collected for professional waste treatment, our Eco Tape Compostable, as shown in its name, can be composted together with other organic substances to feed your trees.
